3. Job and Contract Applicants

If you apply for a job or contract position with MDOT Motor Carriers (the "Employer") through our website, the personal information you enter is stored on MDOT Motor Carriers' databases and servers and made available to the Employer for evaluating your application. We keep application information only as long as needed for hiring and legal recordkeeping purposes.

We do not sell your personal information. Mobile information is never shared as described in Section 5. Other personal information we may share with:

If you opt in to receive text messages from us, we may send messages related to your work with us or your loads. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. You can reply STOP at any time to opt out or HELP for assistance.

We use text messages to send drivers and contractors dispatch updates, load assignments, schedule changes, and automated alerts from our transportation management system (TMS), and, for customers who request them, load status and shipment updates. We do not use text messages for marketing or promotional purposes. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of any purchase, application, or employment. Mobile opt-in data will not be shared with third parties. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging consent and opt-in data will never be sold to or shared with third parties or lead generators.

We will verify your identity before fulfilling a request, and we will respond within 45 days, with a possible 45-day extension if needed. You may use an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf, with proof of authorization.

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy, including to meet DOT, FMCSA, tax, and employment recordkeeping requirements, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When information is no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please contact us right away if you believe your information has been compromised.
